SUMMARY:Pistol Basics with Concealed Carry
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThis Class is for the new or less experienced handgun owner.  \n  \nBring your firearm and you will learn about your gun inside and out. As part of your tuition you will receive a Clenzoil cleaning kit and cleaning mat to properly maintain your firearm for years to come. \n  \nTuition: $180.00 Range fee’s and Cleaning kits are included in your tuition. \n  \nThis course includes:  \nFirearm safety \nRange safety\, and range etiquette \nNomenclature of handguns\, and ammunition \nBasic fundamentals of shooting \nCleaning\, maintenance\, and inspection of your firearm. \nWe will cover laws pertaining to safe storage\, Florida Laws\, use of force\, the do’s & don’t and reciprocity. The curriculum was written for students who have little or no experience with handguns. It’s the starting point for our students and is the foundational class for future defensive pistol classes and our other advanced training classes. In addition to learning the proper techniques of shooting\, the class will cover what you need to do to prepare yourself and your equipment before\, during\, and after you go to the range. \n  \nStudents can use this classes Certificate to apply for their Florida Conceal Weapons and Firearm License. \n                 \nSTUDENT REQUIREMENTS: \nMust be 21 years of age \nProvide a valid state driver’s license\, identification card or permanent resident. \n​ \nLearning Objectives: \nResponsible firearm ownership \nSafe use and handling of firearms \nComponents of the modern pistol and revolver \nRange safety and etiquette \nTypes\, components and purpose of modern ammunition \nFundamentals of shooting \nLoading and unloading handgun \nPreventive maintenance (Cleaning\, maintenance\, inspection and proper storage) \nUse of force \nFlorida Law governing concealed carry \n​Introduction to Defensive Shooting \nDry and live fire drills \n  \nRequired Equipment: \nEye and ear protection \nBall cap \nQuality functional semi-automatic pistol or revolver. \nMicro or pocket pistols are permitted. However\, we discourage their use during this class as you will not receive the full benefits of the training. We suggest full size or medium sized handgun. \n100 rounds of ammunition minimum. More is better \n2 magazines or speed loaders at a minimum. More is better. \nEnclosed shoes (No flip flops\, sandals or open toe shoes) \nCrew neck (T-shirt) or button up shirt (No low cut neckline or tank tops) \nShorts are permitted \nRain gear and appropriate clothing for weather and sunscreen if needed. \nHydration (water\, Gatorade\, etc.) Light snack / Lunch \n  \nCANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Eventbrite fees are non-refundable. In the event Home Defense Solutions cancels a class a refund of the class tuition (NOT INCLUDING EVENTBRITE FEE’S) will be returned to student or the student will have the option to reschedule. NO REFUNDS if the student cancels within 72 hours of the class. Student can reschedule. \n
