DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW\nThis comprehensive course provides hands-on training and the basic knowledge necessary to safely handle\, load\, fire\, and maintain most types of semi-automatic pistols. Classroom and range time offer ample opportunity to achieve the skills for success in a casual\, stress-free environment. This course may also meet and/or exceed the training requirements of many states and localities to apply for concealed carry permits. Check with your local issuing agency for more details. \nEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\nNone. \nCOURSE OUTLINE\nThis course can fulfill the Massachusetts Department of State Police’s requirements for the Basic Firearms Safety Course needed to obtain a License to Carry (LTC) under 515 CMR 3.05(1)(b). Classes listed here will NOT cover Massachusetts Law – Handgun 101 covering Massachusetts Law can be found HERE. \nResponsible firearms ownership and applications of the handgun\nFirearms safety training for the home\, workplace\, and vehicle\nSafety concerns and practices while training and while carrying a firearm\nSafe use and handling of firearms\nLocking devices and techniques for firearms to prevent unauthorized gun access\nPotential dangers (penetration\, ricochet\, misidentification\, accidental discharges\, etc.)\nReady positions\nComponents and operation of modern pistols\nTypes\, components\, and purposes of modern ammunition\nApplicable laws relating to the possession\, transportation\, and storage of firearms\nGeneral guidelines on interstate travel with firearms\nAdministrative loading and unloading of pistols\nFundamentals of basic shooting techniques\nPreventative maintenance (cleaning\, maintenance\, inspection\, and safe storage)\nClasses starting at 8:30am will run until 5:00pm. \nEQUIPMENT LIST\nDo not bring any firearms or ammunition to this course\nPlease wear long pants with pockets\, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals)\, and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neck lines) \nAMMO\nAmmunition is included in the cost of this course. \nNOTES\nClasses starting at 8:30am will run until 5:00pm. \nTo sign up – Please sign into sigsaueracademy.com and sign up directly with Sig\nConfirm all information with Sig Sauer directly (such as equipment – clothing – firearms – ammo – etc)
