Gun Craft offers many opportunities for competition shooting.
We host several monthly shooting matches as well as a weekly practice match.

Our Monthly matches include our local USPSA matches held on the first and third Sundays of every month (more info and registration HERE)

Overview

Survival is dependent upon having a plan of action and being prepared to immediately implement it when confronted with an armed assailant. This advanced course provides students with the techniques and knowledge necessary to defend themselves and react appropriately while offering ample training time to practice.

Experience Requirements

This is an Advanced Level Class, Handgun 104* is required at a minimum. Students should be able to demonstrate proficiency in weapon handling, working from concealment, and single hand shooting techniques. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. *Students who successfully completed the 2-day course ‘Handgun 104: Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills’ prior to February 2024 will have fulfilled the prerequisites necessary to enroll in any courses that require successful completion of either the 1-day ‘Handgun 104: Advanced Handgun Skills’ or the 1-day ‘Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills’ course.

Course Outline

· Perform strikes and manipulate their pistol within contact distances

· Apply tuck and retention techniques while defending from an attack

· Utilize defensive techniques while on their backs

· Maintain accuracy while moving in any direction

· Accurately and efficiently engage multiple targets

· Perform contact shots safely and effectively

· Determine potential reactionary time based on distance and threat type.

· Determine the type of sight picture necessary based on target distance and size.

· Apply point or precision based on target distance, size, and time.
