Gun Craft offers many opportunities for competition shooting.
We host several monthly shooting matches as well as a weekly practice match.

Civilian Weapon Systems: Defensive Pistol (Intro)

CWS: Defensive Pistol (Intro) is the perfect course to complement Basic Pistol, CCW, Security, and LEO trainings. This is more than just sending shots down range.

All Skill Levels Welcomed
We will guide you through the steps you’ll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. In this introduction course you will learn proper Defensive Shooting Fundamentals. Your instructor will help you build your foundation to include, grip, stance, kinesthetic alignment, all the way up to firing 3 to 5 rounds efficiently and effectively to neutralize the threat. Drills Include: Safety, Comfort, Competency Concepts, Medical, Extend-Touch-Press, Up through Up Multiples, Balance of Speed and Precision.

Defensive Pistol (Intro) will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. You’ll get your body working with your gun instead of against it, you’ll learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under stress in a combat situation, and you’ll learn to apply this information simply and effectively – regardless of your skill level.

Range Fees must be paid directly to Gun Craft upon arrival and check-in.

What you need:
• Handgun with an outside the waistband holster made of kydex (or similarly stiff material).  Appendix or centerline carry holsters are also permitted as long as the material is stiff enough to keep the holster from collapsing when the gun is removed. *Holsters should be worn in the same position as one normally carries their firearm on a routine basis.
• 250 rounds of ammunition (FMJ); more is recommended if possible
• 3-4 magazines
• 1-2 magazine pouches (not necessary, but helpful)
• Appropriate range attire
o Closed Toed Shoes
• Eye and ear protection
• Note-taking materials (notebook, pen, etc)
• Snacks and water or other means of rehydrating, (quick easy to eat brain fueling snacks recommended)
