Enjoy a relaxed and safe learning environment; the course includes classroom and live fire range sessions. This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and operating a pistol safely. Subjects covered: Safety, Marksmanship, Malfunctions, Maintenance, Storage, and lots more. The course runs from 9am thru 5pm.
Students receives an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, a Guns Safety Rules card, and the NRA’s Marksmanship Qualification Program booklet. Upon successful completion, the student will receive a course completion certificate, which satisfies the training requirement for the Florida Conceal Carry License application (FL §790.06(2)(h)).
This course is a pre-requisite for anyone seeking to become an NRA pistol instructor.
Required gear: handgun (caliber: 22LR ~ 45ACP), min 150 rounds, 2 mags for semi-auto pistol, eye and ear protection, pencil, notepad, lunch. Appropriate clothing and footwear: (no tank tops, low cuts, no sandals, etc. – hot brass has a way of falling where it shouldn’t).
The Sig Sauer P320 is not allowed in the course. ** Keep your ammo in your vehicle.
